[Solaris] Best practice for doing GFS retention with the Solaris agent

Post by glenn_wagner »

Good day ,

I wonder if someone can help me , I'm using the Solaris Veeam agent 2.0 to backup two servers
I have followed the user guide and i'm only getting 30 restore points with 2 full backups

What would be the best way I can get 30 days / 4 weeks / 12 months / 7 Years
I thought using different Jobs for weekly and Monthly , but then it doesn't use the 30 restore points

Thoughts?

Kind Regards
Glenn

Hi,

You should use Backup Copy Job, because Solaris Agent doesn't have GFS retention built-in yet.

Thanks!

CC repository is not supported as backup destination, but is it supported as backup copy job for solaris agent backup?

Hi,

Once your Solaris backups hit VBR repo you can copyjob them wherever you please as long as the intended target is supported by BCJ.

Thanks!
