Grounded to a Halt!!

Post by leeroy »

We are still using Veeam B&R Ver 5.

We have been running offsite reverse backups over a wan without issue, until last Thursday.

One of the file servers suddenly started to backup extremely slowly (taking 24 hours plus) after the whole backup had been completing within 6 hours??

We cancelled the job but are experiencing the same problem, if we remove the server from the backup job it completes within 5 hours or so as previously expected.

The server we are backing up is a windows server 2003 32bit 300gb dynamic disks, thin provisioned, running on VSphere 5.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Please contact our technical support team and they will be able to investigate. It's hard to guess what went wrong with this server without having the full logs. They also can do a webex session if required to verify the issue. Thanks!

Agree about contact support, but first guess would be that something caused a significant amount of changes to the base disk, perhaps a lot of data added or a defragmentation run.

It is a file server so some files have changed approx 3gb worth of data only.

No defrag or other disk tools have been applied.
