Paul,

We have different mechanisms in place to avoid throttling as much as possible, however, throttling will occur and it depends on many items. Are your jobs succeeding?

For Sharepoint and One Drive throttling, you could use the „backup accounts“- feature from vbo365:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=50

Exchange Throttling shouldn‘t be much of a problem, because application impersonation is used.

Well, your jobs finish so that is a good thing.

Some items to check will be your threads (more is not always a good thing) and what Mildur stated above.

How many threads are you using?
Are we talking about Exchange or SharePoint/ OneDrive?
Are you using multiple backup accounts?

Hello guys,

I met the same problem, my jobs are very slow and my Sharepoint job has a lot 429 errors...

I use a backup account with basic authentication do I have to switch to Modern auth ?
I tryed to reduce the number of threads but the problem persist.

In the configuration I notice that is recommanded to assign auxiliary backup accounts to process Sharepoint & OneDrive data. How many accounts should I need to create ?

This is difficult to say. We have started with 5 accounts, but they were not enough. After that, i had deployed 10 more and it was working. It was for a initial backup of 1 TB Data. The Sharepoint List Item Count was above a million with many small files.

Ten to hundred thousands of small files would benefit from multiple backup accounts.
For a few hundred big files should one backup account be enough.

Stabz,
check this link:
https://www.veeam.com/blog/automate-aux ... ffice.html

With the Auxiliary Backup script you can easily create more accounts.
If you have enforced MFA in your whole organization you have to set the app password for each created user manually, as far as i know.
