EMC Unity config with Windows backup server

Hello ,

We have a couple of Unity arrays configured with ESXi with iSCSI.
We setup Veeam backup and at the moment it executes the jobs over network instead of Direct SAN access.
Are there any guides on how to properly connect a Windows server to EMC Unity for backup?
I am not looking for EMC integration at the moment, just direct access.
Dell's documentation is a bit cryptic

Hello,
direct storage integration would be easier, because Veeam would do the configuration automatically then (meaning the LUN masking on the Unity).

I never used Unity, but the configuration would be very similar like for any other Windows / Linux / VMware access: the Windows IQN / IP must have access to the LUN.

The iSCSI initiator service must run on your Windows proxy.

In the end you would see the VMware LUNs as "offline" in the disk management https://www.veeam.com/kb1446

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I was wondering on the windows setting mostly, eg. in MPIO panel if we need to do anything additional.
We definitely will look into the integration as well.

ah, I remember EMC has the PowerPath tool. If you see issues, forum search has several results on PowerPath.

I tend to go "with the defaults" and see how it works. If "good enough", go for defaults. If not: improve
