Does Veeam One server need to be on a Domain?

Post by HiHoItsOffToWorkWeGo »

We're attempting to operate an environment with both the Veeam ONE server and the VBR server both NOT joined to any active directory domains.
The purpose of this is to isolate them from cyber-attack involving domain take-over scenarios.
My first question is: Is this scenario supported?

Veeam ONE is using a service account that's local to the VeeamONE server.
I tried installing the Veeam ONE agent onto the VBR server.
When prompted to supply the service account credentials used by Veeam ONE, it's not possible to do this on the VBR server.
Is the involvement of the Veeam ONE agent possible in this scenario?
Is there any benefit of trying to involve the Veeam ONE agent in this scenario?

Hello Mark,

No issues are expected in this scenario.

Veeam ONE Agent is required for running Veeam Intelligent Diagnostics and executing Remediation Actions on your backup infrastructure, so yes, it's definitely worth it to have it installed.

If you are facing issues with the deployment, please reach out to our technical support team directly - they will be happy to help!

Thanks
