V11 Immutable + Tape

So I've built a new Ubuntu bare metal immutable repository. I've dropped an LTO drive in there as well. Any suggestions on getting the backups out there? I could run reverse incrementals, and then tar off the vbk's. I'd prefer to run forward incrementals just for speed sake. I've seen some tape drive over iSCSI programs that would allow me to run it directly from Veeam, but most are for Windows (like Starwind's)

Anyone have some ideas?

You can use backup to tape jobs to tape out backup files create by primary backup jobs. Thanks!

Um, how? Veeam can't see the tape since it's not a tape server.

If you use single-use credentials, the host where the hardened repository resides cannot have any other role: you cannot add it as a proxy or as a file server.
If you use persistent credentials, the host where the hardened repository resides cannot have the proxy role, and the file server role is not recommended.

Basically, as I get it, the tape server role is more or less a "proxy".

Furthermore, Veeam's tape integration only supports Windows Servers as a tape server, so you need to put the drive on a Windows box.

Else you'd need to basically just use a third party software to do file backups.
