Glacier Confusion

I am setting up object storage, but am a bit confused. I am trying to use S3 Glacier, so I went into AWS and set up some Vaults.

When I try to set up the S3 Glacier Storage in Veeam all I get is access denied with my IAM key. But if I use another key I can pull buckets from S3(not S3 Glacier). Doing a bit of research it looks like there is two versions of Glacier, legacy which is using Vaults, and then S3 Glacier which is still S3 but uses archive tier? But in AWS my Vaults are under a product "S3 Glacier" so I am a bit confused. Can I back up to these vaults or do I need to use S3 buckets?

I don‘t know the difference between Glacier Vaults and S3 Glacier. But I can tell you, that you need to add the „Amazon S3 Glacier“ as an archive tier. You can‘t add it as a capacity tier.

For offloading data to the archive tier (AWS S3 Glacier), you need a SOBR with a performance tier, an AWS S3 Capacity Tier and your Glacier Archive Tier.
Direct offload to Glacier will not work.

Ok, that makes sense then. I was confusing archive tier with capacity tier. I just tested this and see how it works now. Thank you very much.
