Long term archieve copies RP count

There are times when my mind just doesn't get it.

I have a Copy job that I want to use to create copies for long term. I have it set to run each 31 days. I want to keep 6 months (or be able to go back 6 months). And I want one backup each year, for 5 years.

But what do I set the restore point to ?

Do I need to caculate for the 5 years total ? (meaning 5 times 1, plus 6 months, = 11 ? )
Or is the restore point count totally seperate from the rest ? Do I then need to set it to 1 ? Or whatever else I want ?

This is also not easy to test and see what happens. I would need to wait at least 1 month to see the result.

The setting you're asking about defines the number of restore points to retain on disk by short-term retention policy. I'm sure you'll get better idea after reviewing the example on this page. You may set any number you prefer, it's not related to GFS retention policy which allows you to store backup data for long periods of time like months, quarters, years.
