How to make backup transparent

Post by hyvokar »

Hi,

backing up my win10 pro workstation (which run couple of servers) with latest veeam backup agent. My workstaion is under a HEAVY load, contributing in a grid that gives scientist a fair change to fight covid-19. Anyways. It seems, that while listening music (fgs didnt try recording) backup disturbs it heavily. The grid acticity takes only ~60% of the CPU and all the rest is for Veeam agent, which seem to occypy 2 cores ( still leaving 25% idle cpu). I've configured my WS to run backups only on the dedicated 1gbit line, leaving 1gbit for .. anything else. How to fix this s..t?

Also, I never see VeeamAgent to occupy more than 2 cores... is that a limit?
E: I have several free... and nothing seem to be restricting, everything is "idle"

What is your goal? What do you want to have fixed?
Using more resources for veeam?

Do you have checked the throttling settings in the Agent settings? I think, It‘s activated per default. Deactivate it, and test it again.

hyvokar,

Check disk I/O before the backup and during the backup. If the machine is heavily loaded I assume disk to become the bottleneck. Thanks!
