Windows 2022: Error install VBR

Hi Guys,

I receive an error trying to install VBR on the official Windows Server 2022 server.

The error: "This update can only be installed on Veeam Backup & Replication 11.0 GA."

Is there a path of workaround to get past this? Or perhaps a new Beta version?

This is a LAB environment, running the Windows Server 2022 on a VMware 7.0u1, so betas are fine

You need the Veeam V11a release. It should come out end of september.

I think, i know what is wrong here.
Are you trying to install Veeam with the update.exe?

If you don‘t have a installed vbr on your system, you should use the ISO and not the small update.exe.
This is explained at the end of the kb article:

For new installations and upgrades from the previous versions, use the V11 ISO version P20210525

Installation on server 2022 is possible, but not supported or tested. Since Patch P20210507.

Various product functionality should no longer outright refuse to work with pre-release builds of Windows 10 21H1 and Windows Server 2022 builds and will instead attempt to process them using the existing logic created for previous OS versions. This change does not constitute the official support for these platforms, which is planned for version 11a.

I have downloaded both the ISO and ZIP, I used the ZIP

There you go. The zip (Update Package) can only be applied to existing vbr 11 installations
