Best transport mode ?

Post by blz123 »

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find and to configure the best transport mode in by Vm saving process.
My architecture is simple :
- 1 host
- VM are locally stored
- Veeam installed in a Windows 2008 R2 VM
- Target storage for backup : Netgear NAS with NFS Support.

On V5 I've used Virtual Appliance transport mode but each time backup gone to network mode.
Now in v6 this action show a warning.
So I'm trying to configure best way to resolve Virtual Appliance transport mode.

Is this mode compatible with my architecture ?
I've tried to add my NAS with NFS as Backup Repository (Linux Server) but can't browse folders in (even with root access via ssh).
No way to add NFS Client on Windows 2008 as target too.

Any idea ?

Thanks for yor help :D

Hello, the Virtual Appliance transport mode is best in this case. For NAS, use iSCSI if your NAS supports it - otherwise, use CIFS. Thanks.

yes, but with this mode I have each time the message "Hot add is not supported for this disk, failing over to network mode..." and don't find the reason (even after read the faq about it)

You should open a support case then, and have our support troubleshoot that for you.
