Apple silicon Mac Agent backup

Post by tjz1100 »

So, having got this to work, I have an odd message.

Initially I couldn't import the configuration file onto my Mac (2020 Air M1, 16GB, 1TB) and got a message 'failed to connect to Touched:127.0.0.1:100006. After editing the xml file with the right IP address of my VBR server (touched), the import happened. Yay.
Created a protection group and added my Macbook to a job. Now getting an error 16:00:33

Unsupported filesystem or symlink: /dev/null, /dev/null

but the job appears to progress.

Any ideas?

Hello,
do you have a case number with logs and more details what you are trying to back up?

I just tested backing up a file that is a symlink to /dev/null and it works fine for me. Also restore works - the restored file is again a symlink to /dev/null. Support should investigate what goes wrong.

Best regards,
Hannes

Hi,
Touched:127.0.0.1:100006
Was that in the xml config that you got from VBR?

Thanks!

Hello,
That sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic (also with free edition you can open a case).

Sure, the 127.0.0.1 is also something worth to investigate if that's what VBR did as package export. I remember with multiple NICs / IP-addresses on the VBR server, I also had to modify the XML. But I never had 127.0.0.1 in it...

Best regards,
Hannes
