SOBR configuration

Post by morecoffeeplz »

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help with my SOBR configuration and Wasabi. Our backup server is split up into multiple 2 Tb drives, and our backups are spread out among these. When creating a SOBR, would it be ok to create different SOBRs for each drive? For example, I'm thinking about creating a SOBR-01 for Backup-01 drive, another for Backup-02, etc... Is this alright or am I way off here? Thanks everyone.

Hi, Derek

Normally, most customers add all those drives into a single SOBR instead.

But the other approach you suggest will also work, if you have good reasons to go this route. But then you'd have to micro-manage your jobs and balance them across multiple SOBRs manually to ensure no particular drive is overfilled. I must note that the whole idea behind SOBR was to let our customers STOP doing such micro-management, and instead have a single virtual pool of all of their storage resources to target jobs to.

Thanks!
