Veeam Agent - Restore to Hyper-V - VM won't boot

Post by ndelamotte »

Hi, I opened a ticket(Case # 04997552 ) to veeam but they are super slow to answer...

I am trying to boot a vm on hyper-v from a backup of a physical server. The result is a blinking vm that start 4 times and then shutdown. I tried many things in repair mode (it's OK to boot on the recovery partition...) :

I restored via the boot cd and the instant recovery without any success

So I tried that to in recovery mode without any success :

chkdsk /R /X /I /F c:
sfc /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=c:\ /OFFWINDIR=c:\windows

Here the boot loader information :
C:\Windows\system32> bcdedit /enum

Chargeur de démarrage Windows

osdevice partition=C:
systemroot \Windows
resumeobject {94e74cbd-471b-11e8-bb8a-901b0edb73a9}
nx OptOut

I try to repair it but without any success…
On the vm restaured, I get the same value. I was able to parse the c directory

I tried without any success

Bootrec /FixMbr
Bootrec /FixBoot
Bootrec /RebuildBcd

bcdedit /store <Volume Letter of EFI System Partition>:EFI\Microsoft\boot\bcd /set {bootmgr} device partition=<Volume Letter of EFI System Partition>:
bcdedit /store <Volume Letter of EFI System Partition>:EFI\Microsoft\boot\bcd /set {bootmgr} integrityservices enable

bcdedit /store <Volume Letter of EFI System Partition>:EFI\Microsoft\boot\bcd /set {<IDENTIFIER>} bootstatuspolicy IgnoreAllFailures

Could you help me? I don't understand why the vm won't boot after all theses test and repair topics

Hi Nicolas,

As far as I see your case has been reassigned because one of the engineers went OoO. Please, keep working with the technical support team directly, as troubleshooting through the forums is not possible.

Thanks
