Veeam ONE System Requirements (Backup-data only collection method)

Good afternoon folks,

We are planning to deploy VeeamONE with the "Backup Data Only" collection mode. Do the same hardware recommendations apply below (by the number of virtualization hosts) even though the amount of data ingested will be drastically reduced? Just want to confirm. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

It's all relative of course, but I wouldn't say that just by taking virtual infrastructure out of the environment, the amount of data would be reduced drastically.
It depends on the scale of your backup infrastructure. There's a footnote on that page that states that resource consumption on Veeam ONE Server will increase by ~25% when one connects VBR infrastructure.

Anyway, those recommendations are a good starting point approximation. I wouldn't recommend going lower than that in a commercial environment.
If you share the details of a particular setup, we might be able to provide a more accurate recommendation.
