Job not progressing

Post by rvopat »

We have a job that has been at 7% for about 14 hours. Normally the job takes about 3 maybe 4 hours. I suspect that the job is hung up.

Can i just right click and stop job?

this job is daisy chained with several others, meaning when it finishes it will then start another, and when it finishes it will start another.

If i stop the first job will the daisy chained jobs then be triggered to start?

Yes, you can safely stop the job using this command. In this case post job activity command will be executed and the next job will be triggered.
Though the stop job command might not help in some cases, then please consider this topic for the tips on how to kill a stuck job.

The job will take care of it next time you run it, or you can delete it yourself with vSphere Client just like you would with any "normal" snapshot.
