Problems creating bootable USB Stick over Veeam B&R 11

Hi there ,

I want to restore a physical Machine from an Veeam Agent Backup .
So i insert my USB Stick on which i want to copy the Bootfiles in my Computer .
Right click on the Machine in Veeam and choose "Create Recovery Media" .

I try to create an bootable USB Stick for installing an Agent Backup back to an physical Machine.
But the Problem is that i cant choose my inserted USB Stick in the Screen where i can choose the Available bootable media types .
I only can choose Image ISO File .
But when i connect an USB DVD Burner to my Notebook than i can burn an bootable DVD .

When i try to make the ISO File bootable, for example with Rufus and i try to boot the Machine with this Stick nothing happens .

What i do wrong ??!?

Hi Michael

Veeam Backup and Replication does not create bootable USB sticks(like standalone Veeam Agent does) and only exports Veeam Agent Recovery Media as .iso, so that works as expected.
As for the Rufus USB stick:
- when burning .iso, please check if correct boot is selected(BIOS or EFI) in Rufus
- double check that your machine is capable of booting from USB, and check if you can see USB stick in machine's BIOS and can select it as 1st bootable drive.
- check Rufus knowledgebase in regards to Secure Boot in machine BIOS
- "nothing happens" like your machine does not see boot on a USB stick or it starts loading from USB but shows black screen?

Good Morning ,

Nothing happens means , the BIOS see the USB Stick , i choose the Stick as first Boot Device but i can only see a black Screen . Tested it with Secure Boot and also without Secure Boot.

And what i see is that Veeam B&R can create an Bootable DVD , as i wrote wehn i plug in an USB DVD Burner then the Wizzard shows me that i can burn a bootable DVD . Its not true that only ISO is available .

Wondering if you are connecting to VBR server via remote Veeam Console or using RDP with localhost console connection afterwards?

Hi ,
So, with Rufus now it works . The Problem was that my Computer has an older BIOS and i have to choose MBR ( BIOS ) in Rufus.
