Licensing
Hello
We have an Enterprise Plus License with 10 instances(8 used), 20 sockets (16 use)
we have one Veeam server set up and i would like to get one running on V11 and leave the 9.4 on the other server.
Can i do this with my licensing as it stands right now ?
Thank you
tony

Re: Licensing
If this licenses are a merged license (socket and instances merged), you could unmerge it and install a vbr with the socket license and the other vbr with the instance license.
But for the combination of the license, you must use the enterprise manager to centrally control the license usage. Veeam V11 enterprise manager cannot manage V9.5 licenses.
Since Veeam V11a, it is possible to manage vbr instances from V10 and newer. I would say, you need to update at least to version V10 and use Enterprise Manager V11a to manage both vbr servers.
By the way, V9.5 will be end of support in Januar 2022.

Re: Licensing
Thank you for the reply... is that an official answer?

Re: Licensing
Yes: if you need to keep 9.5, you will have to split your license in order to have two different license files.
On top of what Mildur said above, 9.5 uses a different license file format comparing to V10 and later.

Re: Licensing
So who would split the license file for us ? is it something we can do ourselves?

Re: Licensing
Your license Administrator can do that in the license portal:
