Phased upgrade

Post by dwill0411 »

We are planning our upgrade from B&R 9.5U4 to v11 with the VAW 5.0. Currently the physical machines we are backing up are using VAW 3.0.2.

If I upgrade B&R to v10a will the VAW 3.0.2 agents still work? I am not planning on leaving it that way, but in our infrastructure it would be better if I did not have to upgrade (and reboot) all the physical servers at one time. I would like to upgrade B&R to 10a, get the agents updated to VAW 4, then upgrade B&R to v11 and upgrade the agents to v5.

This is just going to be for a short amount of time. I don't really care whether or not this combination is officially supported. I just want to know if it will function as an interim step to getting everything updated to the latest versions.

Yes, VAW 3 is supported with Veeam V10 as a Target.
