Post by storageguy »

Is there a need to backup the repository? What is the best practice? I'm just worry if something happen to the repository how can I recover it?

Thanks

The best practice is not to backup the repository itself but to rather have a secondary repository for archival/longer RPO purposes. This is achievable with the help of the backup copy jobs. Please also review the Veeam reference architecture for more considerations. Thanks!

Hi
to add to what @foggy said it is also recommended these days to land at least one copy on a repository that is hardened or and S3 target with immutability to make sure you don’t loose data in case of a Cyber attack.
For reference please see: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

Thanks
