HI, I have this question for you, I have a vmware cluster consisting of two hosts.
On one host I have a red hat machine with a postgresql database, on the second host I replicate the VM through the CDP functionality.
Is there a way to automatically activate the second replicated machine when the source virtual machine is no longer available? (Host failure for example)

No, cause automatic failover might be a dangerous functionality: say, a backup server cannot reach an ESXi server due to network glitch and decide to failover replica VM which will inevitably lead to collision.

You can script a failover process, but you should decide first what factor should trigger it.

Thanks!
