Problem setting up linux repository

Hi

I am setting up a hardened linux repository and getting this error when i try to add the Linux server to to the veeam console.

19/10/2021 17:03:15 Error Installing Veeam Data Mover service Error: Client not connected.

I do have a ticket open for this (Case # 05083172) but also wondered if anyone here had encountered the error and resolved it?

The error is quite generic and can be thrown due to many various reasons, let's wait for the results of debug logs analysis from our support engineers.

Maybe you can explain what task did you do ?
Did you create specific account with sudo right ?
Did you use single credentials when you add it to veeam console ?
Are you on the same network from your veeam server and linux repository ?
Can you ping your repository from veeam server ?

PeterM, I thought that may be the case the logs have gone to support so fingers crossed.

Matteu, I am following this guide, which has worked previously for a different repository on the same Veeam Server https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

The account can sudo, i am using single use credentials and I can also ssh onto the repository server as that user and run commands with sudo so I think the account has sufficent rights.
It is on another network, i can ping it and ssh to the repository from the veeam server. The software firewall is disabled on both servers and I am seeing nothing being blocked on the hardware firewalls that VPN the two sites together.

Support reviewed my logs. In my case they idetified that the server was not able to communicate fully with the repository over ssh due to an issue with the cipher config of ssh on the repository server. This artice helped me to resolve the issue https://www.veeam.com/kb2061

Just for my knowledge, what is your OS ?
I never have this issue on ubuntu 20.04
