Hi
Our customer backup Azure VM in Japan East region to Azure BLOB in Japan East region by using Veeam Backup for Azure.
They wants to copy this Veeam backup data of Japan East region to the Azure Blob of another region (Japan West region) for BCP.
Unfortunately, we don't think Veeam Backup for Azure can do inter-region copying.
So we think it is necessary to create another backup job to back up to a BLOB in the Japan West region and run it.
Do you have any other good ideas ?
Let me know.
Regards
Toshi

Re: Backup Copy to another region for BCP
You can add multiple backup repositories and adjust the schedule to send backups to another repository and region. For example, you can send the daily backups to East and the weekly/monthly/yearly backups to West.
Other options would be to integrate with Veeam Backup & Replication and use a backup copy job (which requires a scale-out backup repository before it can be sent over).

Re: Backup Copy to another region for BCP
Hi
Thank you for reply.
I found that there is a redundancy setting between regions on the Azure Storage Account side called GRS.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ ... redundancy
Which is recommended for implementing redundancy between regions, the method of using GRS on the Azure side or the method of dividing it into daily and weekly on the Veeam side ?

Re: Backup Copy to another region for BCP
Sorry for the late reply, but I would say for better control over the retention policy plus the ability to immediately use the native interface for restores makes the VB (Veeam side) a preferred option. Thanks!
