Vcloud Director Veeam plugin failure- Veeam V11a and vCloud v10.3

Post by iamtheroot »

Hi All,

Support Case #05093366

We recently upgraded the vbr/enterprise manager from v10 to v11a. Also upgraded vcloud director from 9.x to 10.3.1.18738571. After the upgrade the Veaam integration plugins are failing with below error on authentication.

Very similar to what mentioned in https://bakingclouds.com/vrealize-opera ... -password/. We used this https://veeamhub.github.io/veeam-plugin-for-vcd/ on previous version of plugin and it worked perfectly fine. Anyone experience same ?

Support were able to find the issue. We had VCD added to VBR with another local name/alias ( not the actual external VCD name). This was causing CORS error there: “Access to XMLHTTPRequest has been blocked by CORS policy”, and a bunch of 401:Unauthorized errors with it.

As per support we updated C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Enterprise Manager\WebApp\Web.config ( on enterprise Manager)

Find this section in the file:

<appSettings>
...
<!--<add key="security-headers:vcdIpOrDnsAddress" value="" />-->
</appSettings>

Uncomment this key and specify the vCloud URL accessible to end users. Please, keep in mind it should be a properly formatted URL, "1.1.1.1" won't work, but "https://1.1.1.1" will do the trick. You can specify more than one URL with a comma as a delimiter. For instance:

<appSettings>
...
<add key="security-headers:vcdIpOrDnsAddress" value="https://1.1.1.1,https://vcloud.url" />
</appSettings>

Then restart Enterprise Manager. That did the trick for us.

Hello,
I see a new email on that case, but please be aware that case was closed because "no answer from customer".

You can open a new case and reference to the old case, if the issue is still there.

Best regards,
Hannes
