Case 04824299 - Backup Copy Job warnings
Since upgrading from v10 to v11 all of my Backup Copy Jobs have warnings for Completing backup copy interval for GFS full creation. At least one of these backup copy jobs has been in place since v7 and I've never had any issues with them before. We have them all set to Periodic copy for every 7 days to basically do an offsite copy once a week. My support engineer suggested that we change the day of the week under Configure GFS but that has not made a difference. What do we need to do to get rid of these warnings that we've never had before?

In v11 we've changed GFS retention mechanism in backup copy jobs to the one used in regular backup jobs in v10. This is done during the upgrade for the existing jobs as well. It is expected that GFS restore point creation terminates the interval and unfortunately, there's no way to get rid of these warnings in the current version. We would probably need to switch this message to Info.

Thanks Foggy, if we could get it switched to Info in an update that would be great. We have the jobs set to email us when it's a failure or warning so we can check on them and it would be helpful not to get emails on all of our backup copy jobs every time they run.

You cannot change it. It‘s hardcoded in the software.
You need to wait for veeam to change it in a new software release. If they decide todo that, of course.

[MERGED] Feature request - GFS warnings
as discussed in "Case 04824299 - Backup Copy Job warnings" on this forum. We pay particular attention to backup errors and warning alerts and we normally act on those alerts immediately but with the changes in version 11, we are now getting regular warning alerts that we cannot resolve and are not actually errors. Could we please get these warnings suppressed or changed to "informational" asap? My ticket number that touched on this issue was case 04932394.

Also get this message in one backup copy job:

Therefore my question was if it has been changed to a Info in more up to date versions or if that is still to be done. My customer does not want to update if there is no issue or we are not sure if it will remove the warning.
I do not have a Case at the support just yet because i thought it would be a simple yes or not answer

Thanks for the details Tobias. We plan to rework this notification in the upcoming major release of Veeam B&R v12 as a part of backup copy engine improvements.
Update: some bugs were indeed fixed in 11a. For instance, warning for interval interruption is not displayed when there is no new restore points at the source repository.

We have the newest Version 12.1.2.172 and we still have this "warning"-msg on Backup Copy Job?!

Hi Sebastian, welcome to the forums.
The topic is a pretty old one and the issue referenced is resolved for some time; to confirm, it's an actual warning, not a green informational message?
If so, I would advise please open a Support Case and include logs from the affected job (select the 1st radio option, then select the affected job for export).
Let's allow Veeam Support a chance to review the logs; please share your case number here once created.

A warning is yellow, not green like a info.
We don't understand, while this problem is still exist and the warning-msg is not a info-msg in this new version? why?
