The task has finished but storing the status to the database has failed

Post by gtelnet »

Anyone see this error before on Azure vba backup during the backup portion of a job? The snapshot works fine but gives this error on the backup for 2 out of ~125 servers in the job. Ticket # 05115672

Snapshot backup of servername is in progress (failed due to: The task has finished but storing the status to the database has failed)

Thanks!

Hi Greg, this looks like a database issue from the message. Maybe some high load caused it but the best here is to work with support to analyse the issue.

We will follow the case as well to assure it gets resolved.

I'm using Veeam Backup for Azure V3

Hi Enrique, sorry for the late reply. I notice you haven't received a solution yet via your case.

Can you check if you have enabled application-aware processing in the policy which gives this error?

Hi everybody,

Just to let you know that we were able to solve the problem by removing VSS Provider "Hyper-V IC Software Shadow Copy Provider" as per https://www.veeam.com/kb1785

And answering to nielsengelen, yes; the policy has "Application-aware processing" enabled, but removing the VSS Provider made the trick.

Thanks,

Enrique
