Veeam not able to see volumes and snapshots on Nimble?

Post by jliu@grandriver.ca »

Hi Veeam newbie here. I just downloaded the Veeam trial version and am trying to see how it will work with our Nimble CS300 unit. I was able to add the Nimble unit in the Storage Infrastructure but the unit is empty. There are no volumes or snapshots under it. Did I miss any steps? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Jason, most likely you haven't configured a proxy server, have you?

Hi foggy, I just used the default settings when adding Nimble unit. I'll look into the proxy server part. Thanks for your quick reply.

You need a proxy server to read the data from the storage, just adding the array to the Veeam B&R console is not enough. ;)

Under the backup proxies there are already 2 setup by default. One is "VMware backup proxy" and the other is named "backup proxy". What kind of proxy do I need to talk to the Nimble unit?

Any of those - just make sure it complies with the requirements outlined in the user guide - see the link above.
