How to Force Tape copy job to use Crossover Link

Post by mulanag »

Using R&B v11a
We have Multi-home our VEEAM tape server and a disk repository . One NIC team is configured for the general LAN. It is used for general management and backup to disk jobs. The second team connects the disk repository and the VEEAM tape server using a crossover cable. The subnet on the crossover cable is configured as non-routable.

Is there a way to force a copy to tape job to use the crossover link?

Hello,
did you already specify the preferred network? As alternative, you could also add the tape server via the direct connection. That would simplify everything.
The subnet on the crossover cable is configured as non-routable.
just to clarify: What do you mean with "configured"? I understood that you have two servers and they have a direct connection without switch (my interpretation of "crossover cable"). That direct connection is "directly connected" from a routing perspective and there is no "configuration" for that.

Something like this

Code: Select all

       _____________
      | |
VBR with --- Tape
Repository Sever

Best regards,
Hannes
