Hi
Preparing a big move from a customer into our datacenter using VEEAM Replication. This is all done by VEEAM B&R Server 1. Now after migration we're going to backup those VMs with VEEAM B&R Server 2. Would there be issues if Server 2 would start backups of the replica's about a week before the failover will be done by Server 1? I would like to do this to stretch the load of all those initial full backups over a few days instead of the migration weekend.
Will the final failover trigger a full resync? Because that would make making the earlier backups useless
Hi,
Are you saying that AS LONG as a replication is active on B&R Server 1 from source VM to target VM, it is preventing B&R Server 2, to create a CBT for the target VM while making a backup?
And with active replication, I mean that we don't sync and backup in the same window. Either the sync is running or the backup is running.

Gabrie
whether one or two backup servers are used is irrelevant for CBT. as long as you do backup from a replica, there is no CBT. all snapshots need to be deleted before CBT starts working.
Backup works - it's just slow (well, and licenses are required 2x)
