vPower NFS questions

Post by claudiofolu »

Hello , I have a couple questions regarding vPower NFS:
Is it possible to enable a vPower NFS server on a linux repository? I think not...
So, if I choose to use a Linux server as backup repository, and want to use features like Instant VM recovery, I have to add a Windows server with the role of NFS server?

Can I use Veeam with QNAP NAS with NFS shares as repository? Or only linux ,windows servers and cifs?

Thanks

Hello Claudio, please review our sticky F.A.Q. topic where vPower NFS is covered in great details. Thanks!

I just read it, could you explain this "Linux and CIFS based repositories do not implement vPower NFS server, and must be pointed to an existing one."
How do I point a CIFS repository to a NFS server? and how do I install a vPower NFS server? as a regular NFS server?

Thanks!

vPower NFS server is set up automatically during creating Windows backup repository. Create a Windows backup repository first and then, while creating a CIFS repository, specify the existing Windows backup repository to serve as NFS server for it.
