Veeam support renewal

Hi All,

Support expired for one of my Veeam 8.0 Infa two years back, however my license status is valid for next 2452 days.
I am planning to upgrade Veeam from 8.0 to 9.5, do i need to renew my support contract for this upgrade?

Hi Ganesh,

Yes, you must have an active maintenance agreement to be eligible to receive product updates. Please review paragraph 6.0 of Veeam EULA:
Maintenance and Support (“Maintenance”) for the Software is available in accordance with Licensing policy and Support Policy, which can be found at www.veeam.com/support.html. Maintenance, if it is included in the Software purchased, will commence upon the date your order is processed and the license file is generated. You will receive (a) support for your Software, and (b) any updates, enhancements or improvements that are included or defined in the Maintenance Policies. Software updates cannot be applied to the Software with an expired Maintenance.

[MERGED] Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 U4 Licensing issue

Hello,

We have Veeam B&R 9.5 update 3 perpetual license for 104 sockets license (this is for VMware).
Support contract is expired now and we wanted to upgrade to 9.5 update 4, while trying to download the license it showed us to renew support.

As upgrade to 9.5 update 4 requires a new license file, can we merge the existing perpetual license to upgrade to 9.5 update 4.if yes please let us know how.

Note: we have a perpetual license that we bought 2 years back and support is expired.

Hi,

I updated Veeam not long ago to version 9.5.0.1922 (which I think is the latest of the 9 serie) and held myself at the thought of upgrading to v10 as I do not hold the licence key. The maintenance contract is also expired. Can I do a live upgrade to the new version or will my product become unlicensed?

No, you will need to have a Maintenance Contract if you have a paid License. You can‘t upgrade without it.

You can use the Community Edition, if you have less than 10 vms/agents to backup. With Community Edition, you don‘t have to pay the maintenance fee for upgrading veeam.

The latest veeam version is 9.5 Update 4b ( 9.5.4.2866)
You have 9.5 Update 3a installed.

We are using version 9.5.4.2615, the contract expired 1,5 years ago.
Can we upgrade to version 9.5 Update 4b or not?

Any update requires an active maintenance contract, so I would recommend to renew it in order to gain eligibility to upgrade to Update 4b.

Can I upgrade VEEAM version to latest if I have a paid license?

So my company previous IT person bought VEEAM licenses few years but the support is expired. The VEEAM version that currently installed and running is 9.5. Are we entitled to update to the latest version for free or do we have to purchase it?
