How to get alerted when immutability has been disabled?

Post by lrhazi »

How can one be sure their S3 immutable config has not been disabled? Besides manually checking it every morning.

Thanks,
Mohamed.

maybe a scripted check, via S3 APIs, from outside one's on-prem environment ?

Hi Mohamed

You can use Veeam One V11a. There are two alarms.

Veeam Repo - Backup Repository Alarm

- Immutability state
- Immutability change tracking

On Object Storage, immutability can not be disabled, if I remember correctly. But the immutability range can be changed and should be monitored.

If you don’t have veeam one and you need to script it, forum search can get you some ideas how to do it:

You cannot disable immutability, only decrease or increase its period. Thanks!
