Managed agent registration disable another one agent

Post by doctor »

Using community free edition of veeam.
Trying to register couple windows lab servers, but then i registers second one, previous deleted from veeam inventory.
Steps to reproduce (for example there are named DC and EXCH servers):
1) Register DC
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -setVBRsettings /p:"FILE"
Exit code 0
Server present in veeam inventory

2) Register EXCH
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -setVBRsettings /p:"FILE"
Server presented in veeam inventory, but simultaneously DC deleted from veeam inventory.

3) On DC server
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -syncnow
Return exit code error 20

4) On DC server repeat registration
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -setVBRsettings /p:"FILE"
Exit code 0
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -syncnow
Exit code 0
But simultaneously EXCH deleted from inventory, and got exit code 20 on
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Endpoint Backup\Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe" -syncnow

Also has couple desktops registered in veeam, no problem.

All clients are VM from Hyper-V on same W10 host.

Hello,
and welcome to the forums. As support will probably not have time to check your log files, I suggest to use the "most common" way of agent management.

What is the purpose of using the pre-installed agents? For lab environments, I would use the normal way.

Best regards,
Hannes

Thank you for response!
The purpose was to test pre-unstalled agents and how they works.

So... I'll sniff around, maybe something to find....
