Backup: one VM takes a long time and holds everything up.

Is there a way I can put a time limit on the backup of individual VMs ?

When one VM takes a long time ( I suspect that it restarted during the backup) it holds all the jobs that follow it up.

There is no option like that, but you can terminate the entire backup job if it exceeds your backup window. If you want to do that, then this setting can be found on the scheduling step of the backup job wizard. Anyway thanks for the feedback!

In conjunction with Vitaly's suggestion, you should also set the VM processing order in the job, and make this VM last. This way, you will achieve exactly what you want. Thanks!

Interesting that you think this solves it.

If you have a random VM that stalls it will hold everything up, queueing the other VMs behind it.

A setting like "Terminate any individual backup longer than x minutes" would be nice.

Unfortunately I have had to break my jobs up with associated termination windows to alleviate my exposure to a random hanging VM backup.
