Starwind Virtual NAS

Post by JamesNT »

So how well to Veeam and Starwind get along these days? I thinking about trying out Starwind vSAN for Hyper-V Failover Clustering shared storage. Need to know if Veeam has any issue backing up VMs on Starwind vSAN.

Hello,
from a Veeam perspective, the storage of Hyper-V is irrelevant. That's because there is no integration into storage systems (well, there is the off-host proxy, but I always recommend on-host proxy for ease of use).

So the only question is, how good is Hyper-V working with Starwind vSAN.

Best regards,
Hannes

@Hannes

Well we are going to find out. I've got equipment on the way for testing. I also just found out that a Veeam Board member sits on Starwind's Board, also.
