Indexation Enterprise manager and retention point

Post by matteu »

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible when I use EM to find file with indexation to select the retention point I want to restore without mount it ?

If I search for a file, I can find it but I don't know how to select the retention point I want without mount it first.

And I have an other question :
I don't know if it's a bug or not but if I mount a point and then click on a cross, I have the filter button greyed and I need to refresh the page to be able to use it.

Hello,

The advanced search provides you the possibility to search the files across all restore points.
For the indexed restore points, you should be available to search the files without mounting the point:
When you restore files from the restore point created for a virtual or physical machine with guest OS file indexing enabled, Veeam uses the following workflow:

1. To provide for browsing and search, Veeam uses index data to represent the file system of the guest OS.
<...>
If I understood your issue correctly, the advanced search should help, but I am not sure I understand the exact moment when you are trying to avoid mounting the restore point. Could you please clarify a bit?

Thanks!

Thanks for your answer.
I will try it and give back my return.

My objective is to mount the point only when I need to restore.
i need to check if advanced filter is what I want.

I just test it now and it's working perfectly yes.
I need to pic the server on the list and select restore point and then it's ok.
Or I can use advanced filter.
