We have a possible reseller that sells backup to a lot of consultants who, apparently, uses their computers 5 minutes at a time. They raised a valid question that I am unable to answer completely:
If a PC goes to sleep, can the backup agent resume the backup job afterwards or will it try do to a complete retry (which it doesn't have time to do)?
This is for file-level backups so using backup-cache is not an option (why? ), but I guess the same question could be applied when using backup-cache as well.
Please be advised that in the case of the hibernation and sleep modes the "smart resume" logic works only for Local / CIFS / OneDrive backup targets, according to our QC. You need to use volume-level backups to be able to utilize this logic for the backups targeting backup repositories or Cloud Connect.
