AFS FILE SHARE BACKUP TO DATA DOMAIN

Post by Shaveen »

Hello all,

We have configure multiple nutanix afs file shares on veeam and then added dell ema data domain as a repository on veeam.
Data domain was connected via fc cable to san switch then to veeam using zoning.
When we run the file share backup job, it fails with error ''fail to process method, fail to connect to storage''
We then tried to remove the ddomain and this time we added it using its production ip address instead of the server name(uncheck fc)
When we run the jobs again, wow all the jobs ran successfully without any issue but our concern if which link veeam is now using for data transfer as we want to use the fc connection to backup to the data domain and we want to know if it is using the ethernet connection or the fc connection?

Hello,
if fibre channel is unchecked, then ethernet is used.

It sounds like fibre channel zoning / masking is wrong. That's something to fix with the fibre channel & data domain admin. It's out of scope from Veeam perspective.

Best regards,
Hannes
