My backup box is configured as a do-everything box: repository, proxy, b&r, etc. I have also installed Hyper-V on this box.
It is not connected to the domain and is running Win10 Pro.
When I try to add a Hyper-V host to the B&R configuration, it fails after "detecting previously installed components" with the error:
"Network path not found, or invalid credentials supplied."
Here is what I have done to troubleshoot:
Verified network (tho since it is all the same box, these shouldn't matter )
- ensured connected to Private ( vs Public )
- tried turning off firewall
- ensure File and Print sharing was on
I can browse to <localhost>\admin$
I enabled the local Administrator account and tried that
I followed steps in KB1914
I'm stumped. Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

Re: Issue adding Hyper-V Host that is the same instance as B&R
Hello,
As it's stated on our help center, we don't recommend to install Veeam B&R server on Hyper-V host:
Thanks!

The reasons are explained in this post. I recommend to spin up a VM and to try to run Veeam B&R on it. If it's not possible, please open a support case but keep in mind that we cannot guarantee that you don't face other issues in future with such a setup even if the actual problem is resolved."You must not install Veeam Backup & Replication directly on a Hyper-V host. Such installation may lead to unpredictable system behavior. Instead, install Veeam Backup & Replication on a VM on the host".
Thanks!

That's your issue I believe.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
Windows 10 1
1 Windows 10 is supported only as a target for Instant Recovery and as a host on which a virtual lab for SureBackup jobs can be created.
Also, please note that this:
> I can browse to <localhost>\admin$
Isn't really a valid test -- that's just opening the share, you need to be able to access data there also.
Basically, I wouldn't try to use a Win10 Server for HyperV at all, even for restore purposes. It's quite unoptimized and at best is nice as a curiosity.
