Hi,
I have VBR 11 and free VAW 5.0.x connect to him.
ON VBR I have limited storage to 10 sessions in same time. When there are 20 users on the network, Veeam Agent connects the first 10 and then releases the others.
When one user finishes sending a backup, VBR releases the next one while the merge operation is not over for that user yet.
Ultimately, I have that out of 20 users, 10 have sent a backup and another 10 are sending, while the latter are waiting for the slot to become available to merge him.
How can I change this process on VBR?
I would like VAW to send a backup, merge it and let another person in.

Re: VAW - merge after upload
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Just to clarify: the storage gets completely overloaded, because there are merges and backups coming in at the same time? Or is it the other way around: new backups do not start because merges are still in progress?
I see several options:
1) use REFS / XFS to speed up merges https://www.veeam.com/blog/advanced-ref ... suite.html
2) reduce tasks on the repository to maybe 5 and see whether that makes the overall speed faster by having less parallel load
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: VAW - merge after upload
Hi,
I am aware of the load on the disks. See attachment.
The user finished sending and instead of merge VBR allowed another one to send.
Now then will wait untill the queue will be free for him...

Re: VAW - merge after upload
Hello,
sorry for the long delay. Still investigating, but seems to be expected (no configuration possible). Backup is prioritized over merges. It's more important to get data backed up than finishing "management tasks".
Best regards,
Hannes
