Problems viewing jobs in http request using uipath

Post by b.forbz »

Hi,

I am using UiPath HTTP request wizard to get jobs from Veeam Backup & Replication version 10 and for some reason https://<my ip>:9<my port>/api/jobs does not show any jobs.

i get status code 200 so somerhing must be working.

All I can see is "<EntityReferences xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.veeam.com/ent/v1.0" />" in the preview window.

I'm new to this so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong

TIA

Hi,

From the xml response you shared I assume that you use EM REST API, not VBR REST API. Just confirming because you mentioned getting jobs from VBR, but the response is in xml format, which is supported in EM REST only. As for your question, did you add VBR to your EM instance? This is the first to-do point before using EM REST API. Check this article on how to add it.

Thanks,
Oleg

Hi Oleg,

I thought I was using VBR REST API... How would VBR REST API differ from EM REST API? Unfortunately I cannot view the Enterprise Manager as it tries to open a web link that does not work.

Could the VBR not be added to the EM instance and still work? I'm not sure what you mean

Thanks

Hi,

VBR REST API is for working with single VBR instance and EM REST API is for working with Enterprise Manager.
These are different APIs for distincts aims. Yes, you can control VBR separately through VBR REST API regardless of it being added to EM. Have a look at this guide. Note though that VBR REST API is still very limited (e.g. to VMware, in terms of platforms support) as the first version was released with VBR v11.

Thanks,
Oleg
