WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin questions ...
Hello everybody,
just 2 quick questions regarding 'WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin' ...
1) When will this option be incorperated into the GUI?
2) Is this just a parameter that defines how long Veeam B&R waits for a tape medium until the job is canceled and not a parameter how long the backup to tape job can run?
Thanks in advance for any clarification.
Regards,
Didi7

Re: WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin questions ...
Hi Didi7,
I choose truth
1. We need to build new logic layer to make backup / restore sessions interactive, so not in v12 unfortunately, but it's planned for next versions.
2. Correct, this key defines how much time it's allowed to wait for the required tape.

Re: WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin questions ...
Hello Dima P.,
thanks for replying. So if WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin = 30 (Decimal), the job waits max 30 minutes in this case for a tape medium to be inserted. If the tape medium is already available or made available within 30 minutes, the backup to tape job will start to run till its end, even if it runs more than 30 minutes (e.g. has a backup window of several hours) ?

Re: WaitForValidTapeTimeoutMin questions ...
Correct. That's a timeout to wait for tape availability which does not affect the job processing time when tape is available.
