Veeam is not sync extents with vacm metadata file

Hi All,

Newly created backup copy job has .vacm file not .vbm. Rescan is not synchronizing the files under this extent.

How extents with .vacm metadata file will synchronize?

We need this data in Veeam to do a cross site Oracle DB restore?

Hi

The *.vacm file is the new metadata format (since V11).

The *.vacm and the *.vasm files are containing metadata. The *.vab file contains the compressed database. The vbm is not used anymore for new Jobs.

From the guide:

A .VAB file stores a compressed copy of an Oracle database. Veeam Plug-in creates .VAB files for both full and incremental backups.

A .VASM file stores metadata that contain information about the backup. A .VASM file is created for each .VAB file. The .VASM files are used by Veeam Backup & Replication to get data about Veeam Plug-in backups.

A .VACM file stores metadata of a backup job object.

Please follow the steps from this documentation ( Importing Backup Files). It describes how you have to import the backup files (you need all three filetypes):

Starting from version 11, each Veeam Plug-in backup file (.vab) has its own metadata file (.vasm). Make sure you import backup files and all related metadata files. Also, you must import the backup job metadata file (.vacm) which is stored in the same folder.
