[VBO365 SMTP] SMTP and Basic Authentification Issue

Hello,

I have deployed VBO365 in modern authentication Azure, I have no problem for the backup jobs but I have an error message for the SMTP part :

The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authentificated.
The server response was: 5.7.57 Client not authentificated to send mail. Error 535 5.7.139 Authentification unsuccesful, basic authentification is disabled.

I can not understand, is it necessary to be in basic authentication to use SMTP?

Hi

Yes, for now you must enable Basic Auth for SMTP if you want to send mails with user authentification.
For vNext, we are planing to provide oAuth 2.0 for SMTP.
