Modern authentication with legacy allowed

Post by DanielJ »

We have a few customers who are still using "with legacy protocols allowed" in their login settings. What will happen with these when MS finally discontinues legacy authentication? Will it work the same as if we just unchecked the box today?

Hi Daniel

For Modern-Auth Only, we require a few permissions more than for "Modern Authentication and Legacy Protocols". You can let VB365 add this permissions for you.

1. Remove the Option "with legacy protocols allowed"
2. choose "Use an existing Azure AD application"
3. Provide the existing Application certificate and check the box for "Grant this application required permissions and register its certificate in Azure AD"

VB365 will then automatically add the missing permissions to the Azure AD App.

Thanks

Daniel,

Preliminary tests show that modern+legacy can continue to work, however, this is to be investigated in more detail closer to the release.
