Exclusion rule for all workstations

Post by crackocain »

Hello

We need to exclusion rule for mobile workstations.

Workstations are self managed but connected Veeam Backup & Replication console. Veeam Replication console has Public IP and all clients send backups this way.

https://www.veeam.com/kb3181

In this KB explained OST file exclusion. So we need all workstations exclude OST files or "Downloads" folder.

We can't create Protection group because this computers are mobile. WAN IP's are always changing.

How we achive that?

For example I want to add or remove Registry key in Backup & Replication console and after that OST files are excluded.

Hi Mehmet

If you are using unmanaged standalone agents, then you can configure reg key on workstations via GPO.
Note that .ost is there by default, as Microsoft itself does not recommend backing it up, so you don't need to add it to exclusions manually again.

/Cheers!
