Hi Daniel,
after installing the agent i want to start the agent
Is that a manual standalone installation? Are you using Veeam B&R or Veeam Availability Console to manage your agents?
backup a win server 2008
Is that Windows 2008 R2 server or pure 2008? Thanks.

Daniel,

Try to do the following:

1. One the affected computer go to Control Panel
2. Find Veeam Agent for Windows and Installer Service and uninstall both
3. Reboot the host
4. Run manual installation of Veeam Agent for Windows

Let me know if that works. Thank you.

[MERGED] Unlink VAW from VeeamBR

Post by AlexLeadingEdge »

Hi guys,

To do a restore of a component on a server my offsider installed VeeamBR and opened a Veeam Agent for Windows (VAW) backup. Once done he has uninstalled VeeamBR.

The problem is that we now get this error message when opening VAW:

"Unable to complete the action because this backup agent is centrally managed by your system administrator."

I don't know how it got linked, but it has. How do we disconnect VAW from the VeeamBR that no longer exists?

Hello,

Code: Select all

Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe -removeOwner
seems to be the most straight forward way. See user guide. I'm merging the question to the existing thread, to add the new option, which did not exist in 2018

Best regards,
Hannes
