Hi,
I’d like to do something which will be frowned upon and that’s backup when I want to, so not every X days.
I’ve yet to download the free version of veeam but I’ve seen some settings about retention.
What I’d like to do is create a full image backup every few months on two machines.
Is this possible, if so which options do I need to select, when I see the retention setting of 7 days it makes me think after 7 days I won’t be able to recover on a backup from a few months ago, is that true?
Also the bootable media creation for bare metal restore, I assume I just need to create that once on one computer, and then I can use that on both computers?
Thanks

Re: Question about retention
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Recovery media works for all machines, as long as the drivers are included (happens automatically during creation). So the answer is: "it depends"
Best regards,

no, if you create backups only every few months (and nothing in between). If you install the free agent, then you will see the Keep backups for <N> days (excluding days with no backup) option. The user guide explains itis that true?
