data flow

Post by mporliod »

Hello, I wanted to ask you a question about the backup data stream.
Now I have a physical server with the role of primary repository where veeam also resides and I do the second copy on the data domain in the cloud.
If I make it a virtual veeam and place it in my vmware cluster and I always keep my physical server as the primary repository and the second copy on the data domain, does the data flow to the data domain also pass through virtual veeam? or just go from the primary repository?

Hi Massimiliano, data doesn't need to go over a Veeam B&R server. It will go from the backup repository to the gateway server and then to the Data Domain, so make sure you're specifying the correct server as a gateway. Thanks!

Can the physical backup repository be the gateway?
