Huawei object storage immutability ?

Post by lowlander »

Hi,

I noticed Huawei is having an object storage solution that is certified with Veeam : https://www.veeam.com/kb3173

Does this solution supports object lock technology having the option of immutable backups / can we check the make recent backups immutable for x days ?

Huawei doesn’t support object locking at this time. The Veeam Ready Object testing is for non-locking solutions. Veeam Ready Object with Immutability is for those solutions who use and passed the object locking tests.

Hope this helps.

Marco,

Huawei has expressed interest in testing their object locking via our Veeam Ready Object with Immutability test kit. If/when they test and pass the tests they will be listed on https://www.veeam.com/alliance-partner- ... grams.html. I will do my best to update this thread when that happens.

Thanks

None at this moment. I will try to validate this soon. Last time I checked there were APIs that were missing. Just to confirm are you looking at huawei cloud or the appliances? If appliances what model?

No news. If they have implemented everything according to our requirement list, it would just work. So update firmware and try out the immutability.
